Dominion Prosperity Cards List

dominion prosperity cards listDominion Prosperity is the fifth release in the Dominion game series. Dominion Prosperity is an expansion-only set like Seaside and Alchemy before it. It is not a stand-alone version, so you’ll need to have either the original Dominion game or Dominion Intrigue to play a game with the Prosperity box set. If you haven’t acquired one of the first two games, do so before getting the Prosperity expansion! (or, you can buy the base-cards-only pack that lets you play any expansion as a stand-alone game)

With each expansion release, new themes have been added to expand game play and further add complexity, strategic options and interactions, and power to the overall experience. Prosperity is a large expansion that makes significant additions to the overall Dominion game.  Among the 25 Kingdom Cards that are added with this complimentary, non-stand-alone expansion are some of the most powerful cards created to date.  The release of Dominion Prosperity introduced three major new and significant concepts.  First, treasure cards that carry monetary functions (other than simply buying with them) were introduced (Bank, Contraband, Hoard, Loan, Quarry, Royal Seal, Talisman, Venture).  Secondly, for the first time, expensive cards were introduced with a significant increase in Kingdom Cards costing 6 Coin or more (with Colony being the most expensive at 11).  Thirdly, victory point tokens were introduced which allow actions or buys to be executed that accumulate victory points that do not bog down deck rotation or diminish hand functionality.

Several of the Kingdom Cards contained within this large expansion are the most coveted and exciting cards across the entire game.  Indeed, games often are decided by who can generate a hand with 7 Coin first in order to buy a King’s Court.  Because of the popularity and added functionality this game brings, many prefer to buy the Big Box as their first purchase.
