Dominion Cornucopia Cards List

dominion cornucopia cards listDominion Cornucopia is the sixth release in the Dominion game series and the second small expansion (Alchemy was the first). Dominion Cornucopia is an expansion-only set like Seaside, Alchemy, and Prosperity before it. It is not a stand-alone version, so you’ll need to have either the original Dominion game or Dominion Intrigue to play a game with the Cornucopia box set. If you haven’t acquired one of the first two games, do so before getting the Cornucopia expansion! (or, you can buy the base-cards-only pack that lets you play any expansion as a stand-alone game)

With each expansion release, new themes have been added to expand game play and further add complexity, strategic options and interactions, and power to the overall experience. Cornucopia is a small expansion that emphasizes deck variety and introduces the concept of prizes for reaching certain criteria/milestones during game play (Tournament).

The addition of powerful prize cards/prizes creates a “game within a game” aspect that builds into each turn a frenetic excitement, a sort of race within a race.  Often, however, the winner of the first race can catapult to a sure victory in the overall race using the advantage gained from winning the prize cards.  For games played by skilled players, this fact gives the first player a greater advantage than would otherwise be had.  For games involving 3 or more players, those players going later suffer most.  This can be demoralizing for the loser(s) of the first race, especially if the player doesn’t shortly thereafter obtain benefit from the prizes as well.  Oh ye who are psychologically weak, consider yourself forewarned!

Are the bane cards included with the set or are those in a different set?

The bane cards that protect against Young Witch attack can be from the same set or any other set. The inclusion of the Young Witch card, as per setup instructions, means that one other card will be added as the bane card that costs 2 or 3 coin.

The Jester when played, does the person that plays the card gain a new card from every person that has to discard?
